Reggie Dunlop - Paul Newman 1925-2008

Thank you for all the memories and the laughter you brought to us. Your charitable work with your Newmans Own brand goes beyond anything you could have done in the movies. All profits from Newmans Own Products are donated to charity (So far over $250 million). Paul also started the Hole in the Wall Camps a Non-Profit for children with serious illness ("Laughter is the Best Medicine") Lifelong Slap Shot Fan Ken "Toe" Blake had a couple of Slap Shot golf tournaments in the past for this charity where cast members made appearances. We have lost a truly special person.

Don't forget Dave Hanson's Biography

George Roy Hill - Director - 12/20/20 - 12/27/02

Academy-Award winning director George Roy Hill has died in New York at the age of complications from Parkinson's Disease. The director of 18 films, Hill is best remembered for his work with actors Robert Redford and Paul Newman. The two actors starred in the 1969 movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which helped invigorate the fading Western genre.Hill also worked with the actors in the 1973 movie, The Sting, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Director. He also was the director for the 1977 movie Slap Shot, bringing the minor league hockey movie story of Nancy Dowd to the big screen.

Movie Summary: Released (and DVD) on March 26, 2002, Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice was filmed in Canada on an $8 million budget. The story line is that the Chiefs have been bought by a family oriented company and the team is coached by a woman. They are now called the "Super Chiefs". In this scene (which is the final scene) which we bring you exclusive photos, the audience is supposed to be fans of the "Ice Breakers" the team they were playing against. When some fights broke off (what do you expect from the Chiefs?) the crowd were supposed to act like they were displeased. But around the 3rd period, the "Hanson Brothers" are back and the whole team is wearing their old Jerseys again, which of course can be purchased from our website.
